So i have started to work on project #1 Moments in time... any thoughts criticism or help?? I am thinking the opacity is to high on each layer?

Project description

Project Name: Moments in Time

Project description: I am doing this project with pictures I already have. I am going to compile them together to show different moment in time. I have three set of categories for the photos that I will use.

Conceptual Concerns: Capturing moments in time is an idea that has long been discussed with the invention of taking photographs. Being able to take these moments and put them together is an idea that has struck my interest.

Technical Skills Covered: The skills that i am hoping to learn is how to layer the images that I have. Also to have a better understanding of Photoshop.

Formal Guidelines: The medium will be digital photography. The photos will be 13x19 and will be matted to make it look like an expensive photo. The due date will be set in class, also this project maybe worked on for the entire semester.

Artistic References: Jason Salavon is the artist that has inspired me to start this project.

Readings: To come with the exploration of how to composite different Photos together.

Grade: This Grade should be based on how well I am able to put together the project with the technical skills.

Goals List: This is going to be a project about combining points in time. Also this project may turn into a color study of all of the different scenes.

Project #1

I have been thinking about my project. Wondering what to do.. Still have no idea!!!! a little scared a little sad. starting to think about going through my books as see what i can come up with to inspire me to be creative. Still havent gotten into the swing of things for this semester. Maybe that is because i am graduating in December and am freaking out about finding a new job and applying to cosmetology school. Oh well something good is bound to come my way... I am thinking i have paid my dues.

Dyslexia

Developmental reading disorder, also called dyslexia, is a reading disability resulting from the inability to process graphic symbols.
Symptoms

• Difficulty determining the meaning (idea content) of a simple sentence
• Difficulty learning to recognize written words
• Difficulty rhyming
• May occur in combination with writing or arithmetic learning problems

Having dyslexia is a serious disability. It makes it so when a person is reading they will fix a problem in a sentence naturally in their head without realizing that they have or they can miss spell a word as long as the first and last letter are correct they will read it as correct. so when criticizing someone on their grammar you need to make sure that you are being sensitive to the fact that the person may be reading the problem already corrected in their head.

Wonder Lands

We should all go at some point during October to see the art show Wonder Lands. Its at Crossroads School Sam Francis Gallery. It is a group show by artists whose explorations of inner worlds intersect with natural world in strange and unexpected ways. the show is running from 10/1-10/30 the opening is 10/1 from 6-8pm. the artists that will have work there are Alison Carey, Nancy Jackson, Rebecca Morales, Christine Nguyen, Jessica Rath, Darren Waterston, and Daniel Zeller. Christine Nguyen went to Marin Headlands and was inspired by the nature that surrounded her and was able to produce some C-prints that are absolutely amazing. We should go and support.

So i was told about this website and i cheked it out. what i found is an artist that is doing similar things to George Rousse. Where he is creating an image that if you look at it at a certain way it looks like an object. However this article breaks down what the image looks like if you are starring at it from the wrong angle its interesting to see how this is done.

So i like looking a photos of night pictures, i also love taking the pictures photos at night. When looking at photos taken at night i feel like either there is something in the darkness that might be lurking or there might be no information missing. While looking through photos of night photography i came across a blog travelphoto.net. It seems that this person has traveled around the world and taken many photos of many famous buildings and different well known sites i think that if the photos had been taken during the day there wouldn't be as much interest.

confusion

I have never really been into fashion for myself. However i have enjoyed looking at fashion magazines and at fashion photography. I feel my career path will be taking me down the long road to fashion. So i have been looking at different websites of friends and others that have that fashion forward feel and i am liking what i am seeing i am not sure though what to do with these images. I feel like the more i look at the more i am frustrated that i am not sure where to start when it comes to getting photos. anyways there are my thoughts for the day.

Summer

So this summer was traumatic. I am happy to get back to the grind of things in school. Its my last semester so i am gonna try to make the best of it.
